Public Health - Seattle & King County is seeking a *Patient Service Representative (Administrative Specialist II "AS II")* to join a vibrant, multi-disciplinary, and diverse team at our *Federal Way and Midway public health centers*, to deliver health services to the county's most vulnerable people. The Patient Service Representative will support the First Steps (Maternity Support Services/Infant Case Management) and Sexual & Reproductive Health (SRH) programs.

The *First Steps** program *provides services to families during pregnancy, infancy, and early childhood. The programs function as a multidisciplinary team comprised of Nutrition Assistants, Dietitians, Public Health Nurses, a Community Health Worker, and a Social Worker. These programs provide food, nutrition education, case management, referrals, and service linkages to some of our most vulnerable populations in order to improve pregnancy, birth, and early childhood health outcomes.

The *SRH program* is a nationally recognized provider of sexual and reproductive health services, including birth control, pregnancy testing with options counseling and referrals, sexually transmitted infection services, and breast and cervical cancer screenings. We offer high quality, confidential care to all members of our community regardless of ability to pay. Our clients are culturally, socially, and linguistically diverse.

The Administrative Specialist (ASII) is a frontline staff who interacts with customers to address their needs, ensure they have health insurance, schedule appointments, and/or provide information about the First Steps program and King County Public Health services. Additionally, this position collaborates and coordinates with nurses, social workers, nutritionists, interpreters, and other ASIIs to deliver preventative health services to Medicaid-eligible and qualifying pregnant and post-pregnant individuals, infants, and their families from a broad range of cultures, communities, backgrounds, and experiences.

This position supports and advances the Community Health Services Division's values for fair and culturally competent service delivery; innovative, effective, and efficient application of resources; and a culture of performance, expanding opportunities to seek input, listen, and respond to clients.

Community Health Services assures the provision of clinical health care services in King County through policy and planning work with partners and through the direct provision of clinical services. Community Health Services include parent-child health services, preventive and primary care services, oral health, homeless health care, youth health services, Integrated Behavioral Health services, outreach, WIC, refugee services, Access and Outreach, Black Community Equity Team, children's health services, dental clinics and other resources, Sexual and Reproductive Health, Emergency Medical Services, food insecurity screening, health insurance navigation, Health services for the homeless, immunization, Public Health Centers, resources for child care facilities, school health and teen health, and pharmacy services.

*Background*
 
Temporary opportunity.  Term-Limited Temporary positions are "at-will" positions but are eligible for benefits. *This TLT is currently anticipated to last six months*. However, funding sources for this work remain uncertain and dependent upon decisions actively being made at both the federal and local levels. As a result, the end date of this position may be adjusted based on those decisions.  The County and the Department continue to work to secure long term funding sources.
 
This vacancy can also be filled as a Special Duty opportunity. For Special Duty Assignment interest, you must be a Career Service, Career Service Exempt or other regular (non-temporary) employee in King County who has completed their initial County probation. You must have supervisor approval prior to taking a Special Duty Assignment.

*Work Schedule *This is a full-time, onsite, opportunity. Workdays and hours will vary based on business needs. Currently 8:00-5:00 Monday - Friday with some Saturdays or evening hours to meet client/business needs. 
 
*Work Location *Federal Way Public Health Center (33431 13th Pl S, Federal Way, WA 98003), HealthPoint Midway (26401 Pacific Hwy S, Des Moines, WA 98198) and Auburn Public Health Center (901 Auburn Way N, Auburn, WA 98002) are the primary work locations. The candidate may work at various King County Public Health Centers and satellite offices based on business need and must have the ability to travel to sites throughout King County. On occasion, travel between sites may be required on the same day. A County vehicle may be available for use.
