Involuntary Commitment Screeners [ https://www.governmentjobs.com/careers/kingcounty/jobs/4699585 ] 10/23/2024 03:51 PM PDT

The Behavioral Health and Recovery Division (BHRD) of DCHS seeks *I**nvoluntary Treatment Act (ITA) Screeners** *to fill several positions. These roles will be responsible to accept referrals and read cases on individuals experiencing crisis from community members, clinicians, hospitals, and law enforcement. Once a referral is accepted, the ITA Screener will seek to obtain and review critical information through the intake process. They will be key members of the Crisis & Commitment Services team and hold the responsibility of assisting Designated Crisis Responders (DCRs) with ITA cases by moving referrals forward and into the field for complete investigation by DCRs.

The ITA Screeners will perform their work in a way that supports the DCR supervisors in triaging ITA assignments and the larger DCR team to meet contractual outreach timeframes. The ITA Screeners will be attentive to a high level of customer service and safety to patients. They will report directly to a DCR Supervisor.

The Department of Community and Human Services values diverse perspectives and life experiences. The Department encourages people of all backgrounds to apply, including Black, Indigenous, and People of Color, immigrants, refugees, women, LGBTQ, people with disabilities, veterans, and those with lived experiences.

King County’s Department of Community and Human Services (DCHS) provides equitable opportunities for people to be healthy, happy, and connected to community. We believe in working as one team that solves problems—striving to be customer-focused and drive for the best results. We envision a welcoming community that is racially just. We believe the field of human services exists to undo and mitigate unfair structures. We seek to lead the way by working as respectful and responsible stewards for our community.
