View as Webpage July 1, 2024 Reno Connect | Senior Connect Connecting Citizens to our Community   July 2024 Updates   AARP Community Grant Challenge The City of Reno is thrilled to announce the award of $11,900 through the AARP Community Challenge. This funding will allow for additional technology classes in multiple languages. The AARP Community Challenge is a grant program to make tangible improvements in communities that jump-start long-term change. It is part of AARP’s nationwide Livable Communities initiative, which supports the efforts of cities, towns, neighborhoods and rural areas to become great places to live for people of all ages. To learn more, visit aarp.org/Livable. Upcoming free technology classes are scheduled for July 31st-August 1st from 9am-10:30am located at the McKinley Arts and Culture Center (925 Riverside Dr.). Classes are two-part series classes to teach basic and advanced skills on how to use your smartphone. Attendance is required for both. If you are interested, kindly fill out this form. Poetry Workshop Free poetry workshops sponsored by the Senior Citizen Advisory Committee, for seniors to unleash their creativity, discuss poetry and share your thoughts with each other!
