Next week, get ready to hang out with 100,000 of your closest local friends and celebrate Independence Day. The sky will sparkle with thousands of fireworks for 20 minutes at the 47th Annual Fireworks at the Fountain. The best place to see the action? Lake Eola Park or at home watching the live stream. Either way, don’t miss the place to be on Thursday, July 4.
Bonus - this year, ride SunRail FREE (https://sunrail.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/23804_SUN_July4_Schedule_F.pdf?utm_source=City+News&utm_campaign=64b7031bf6-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2019_01_07_03_07_COPY_01&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_c482f52094-64b7031bf6-80648119&mc_cid=64b7031bf6&mc_eid=UNIQID) ! And don’t forget to take advantage of the, also FREE, downtown LYMMO circulator.

It’s July in Florida and it will be hot. Make sure you’re prepared and are staying safe during times of extreme heat.

** Are you in the cone of insurance uncertainty?
------------------------------------------------------------
Buying a home is the largest financial transaction most people will make in their lifetime, yet more than 15% of Florida homeowners do not have their homes insured. Homeowner and Flood insurance is expensive, but it is a lot more expensive to re-build or repair your home post-storm without insurance.
With Hurricane season here, you want to make sure your home is properly covered. Don’t wait until a storm is approaching to do so. Most insurance policies don’t go into effect until 30 days after signing up.
Things to consider when looking for coverage:
* Understand what disasters your insurance policy covers and the ones it doesn’t (a common exclusion is flooding)
* If you own a co-op apartment or condo, be aware of what falls into the building’s master policy and what damages you are personally responsible for
* Determine the value of your possessions with a home inventory (can help with future claims)
* Be on the lookout for hurricane/windstorm deductibles and what would activate one
* Check your policy limit and make sure the amount is enough to rebuild your home
* Renters be aware of the policy covering your building and assess the value of your personal items
Remember, preparation now means less of a headache later. Be safe and not sorry this hurricane season.

** Drive to this Dive
------------------------------------------------------------
What do you get when three of Orlando’s business masterminds combine their retail, beverage and culinary expertise into one brand new concept? Did you guess a dive bar? Probably not, but that’s exactly what happened when Freehand Goods and The Neighbors creators Jacob and Brittany Zepf, and Hinckley’s Fancy Meats culinarian Matt Hinckley decided to open their newest joint project, Mid Drive Dive.
When Graffiti Junktion closed their College Park location, the neighborhood was left lacking a local burger joint and watering hole where residents could just go to hang out. Matt saw this as an opportunity to expand the work he was already doing at Hinckley’s Fancy Meats, creating crowd favorites including burgers, but also introducing the unique food options Matt is known for, like the “redneck calamari” – sliced, crispy-fried pig ears. Jacob and Brittany likewise saw an opportunity to expose College Park to more of their branding genius with mid-century modern and 32804-inspired merchandise and cocktails, like the “Dancing on the Drive” signature drink.
To visit Mid Drive Dive, head to 2401 Edgewater Drive, or check out their website at middrivedive.com (https://www.middrivedive.com/?utm_source=City+News&utm_campaign=64b7031bf6-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2019_01_07_03_07_COPY_01&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_c482f52094-64b7031bf6-80648119&mc_cid=64b7031bf6&mc_eid=UNIQID) .
