*When did this happen:*

For 2024, Gold Images are released on Friday following patch Tuesday.

08/16/2024 - Splunk Prod - Increase Indexer Instances for OE12

*Summary*

The CMS Cloud team will scale up Splunk indexers infrastructure as part of Open Enrollment (OE) readiness based on this years game day exercise. This change is scheduled for Friday, 8/16/24 at 6:00 PM.

*Actions we are taking*


* Upscaling Splunk indexers using IAC. 
* Splunk and ITSI will be placed in maintenance mode.

*When is this happening?*

Start Time: Friday, 8/16/24 at 6:00 pm ET

End Time:  Sunday, 8/18/24 at 6:00 am ET

*Who will be impacted?*

DRaaS ITSI, MITG MSI and EMM may have performance impacts when the Cloud Splunk indexers are being configured. Also, CCIC search heads peered to the Splunk environment might be impacted. 

*What is the impact? *

There will be latency in adhoc searches that are performed by customers. Dashboards might also render slowly and have incomplete data while the changes are being propagated.

*Benefits of the change*

This is part of OE12 preparation work to meet the performance requirements.

08/22/2024 - DevOps Services Maintenance

*Summary*

CMS Cloud will be performing maintenance updates on its DevOps tools.

*Actions we are taking*

JFrog


* Update helm charts (artifactory, insight, xray, datadog)
* Add token expiry notification config
* Add API Key creation disabled config
* Update EKS AMI
* Update EKS add-ons
* Datadog Dashboard Integration

* Cloudbees
* Upgrade product and support software versions. ( EKS add-on plugins upgrade)
* Upgrade CB Jenkins version
* Update EKS nodes with the latest Amazon Linux 2 Gold Image from CMS Cloud

*When is this happening?*

Start time: Friday, 08/22/2024 at 9:00 p.m. ET
End time:  Saturday, 08/23/2024 at 1:00 a.m. ET

*Who will be impacted?*
All AWS Commercial and GovCloud customers of CloudBees and JFrog. 

*What is the impact?*
Customers should expect a short downtime for each service as instances are restarted within the maintenance window.
