*Mountain View Ranks as Safest Suburb*





Neighborhood Photo Summer




Mountain View has been named one of the safest suburbs in the United States, according to personal finance company SmartAsset. The study measured community safety by comparing across different cities the reported rates of violent crime, property crime, motor vehicle deaths, drug overdose deaths and excessive drinking, among other common indicators.

Mountain View was one of four California cities to make the top 20, which also included Palo Alto, Pacifica and Livermore.

Community Invited to Public Safety Forum

The Mountain View Police Department, in partnership with the Public Safety Advisory Board (PSAB), will host a public forum on the Future of Community Policing this month.

*Mountain View Senior Center, 266 Escuela Ave.*

There will be a discussion on current scams affecting the community and crime prevention tips. A PSAB board member will moderate the forum.

"I Am MV" Project Launches This Month

The City of Mountain View Human Relations Commission is pleased to invite you to participate in the “I Am MV” Storytelling Project. Join us in celebrating Mountain View’s diversity and community by submitting your own original poem, art- or written work!

Following the submission period, select entries will be displayed on the project website and at the Mountain View Public Library in a celebration of the community’s diversity and the 30th anniversary of the Human Relations Commission.

Community members can also find and submit hardcopy submission packets at City facilities. The materials will be available in multiple languages.






Moffett Boulevard Precise Plan Workshop





Moffett Blvd Precise Plan

The City of Mountain View is beginning the process to develop a Precise Plan for the Moffett Boulevard area through an interactive in-person Community Workshop.

*Mountain View Community Center, 201 S. Rengstorff Ave.*

The Moffett Boulevard Precise Plan will expand on the 2030 General Plan vision, including new goals, policies and regulations for private development, and street improvements.

It will also implement requirements of the 2023-2031 Housing Element.

The workshop will start with a presentation of information about the plan area and existing conditions, followed by smaller working group discussions to solicit participant input on their ideas and visions for the future of this area. The community input will be presented at future study sessions with the Environmental Planning Commission and City Council.

Translation services for the workshop are available upon request and childcare and light refreshments will be provided.

Plan Bay Area 2050 Pop-Up Workshop

The Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) is seeking public input on the development of the Plan Bay Area 2050+ Final Blueprint. 

Plan Bay Area is a long-range regional plan jointly developed and adopted by the MTC and the Association of Bay Area Governments every four years. The vision for the current plan is to ensure that by year 2050, the Bay Area is affordable, connected, diverse, healthy and vibrant for all.

A pop-up workshop will be held at the farmers’ market in Mountain View to gather community feedback on how transportation dollars should be spent in the Bay Area.

Don’t miss out! There are only two weeks left to register for this year's Citywide Garage Sale scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 14 and Sunday, Sept. 15. 

Some apartment and multiple household sale options:


* If you live in an apartment, register as a multiple household sale with another Mountain View resident who has a driveway or lawn.
* If you are in an apartment and want to host a sale in your unit or elsewhere on the premises, please seek approval from your property management first. 
* If you and your neighbor(s) don’t have enough items for a sale at each of your homes, consider combining them together at one location and register as a multiple household sale.

Seller registration closes on Wednesday, Sept. 4.
