Use #TorranceCA so we can find your shots and share them!   WHATS NEW Torrance Welcomes the Kashiwa Delegation On August 5, Torrance had the pleasure of welcoming a delegation from its Sister City of Kashiwa, Japan for the annual Student Cultural Exchange Program. The group included eight students and one adult leader who will stay in Torrance for three weeks with their host families. Since forming a sister city relationship on February 20, 1973, the two Cities have enjoyed many rewarding civic, educational, and cultural exchanges. For more than 50 years, the Torrance Sister City Association has supported the student exchange program, fostering friendships and cultural understanding. During their first week, the delegation had the opportunity to visit the Torrance Fire Department, explore City Hal and meet the Mayor and City Council, and experience the delicious produce at our Torrance Certified Farmers' Market. There's no better way to support producers than by visiting our Torrance Certified Farmers’ Market to celebrate the growth and impact of farmers' markets and their vital role in America’s food supply chain.  This year, the Torrance Certified Farmers’ Market is proud to mark its 39th year of operation as a Farmers’ Market, supporting small to mid-sized farmers and regional food systems, and food businesses.
