The City of Bellevue is seeking a skilled, motivated communicator to serve the community as a *Communications Coordinator – City Speech Writer*, working directly with the city’s communications team and city council to create compelling, accurate, transparent written communications for external release. The Communications Coordinator will join a collaborative and community-focused team committed to delivering effective, timely and transparent information to the public related to activities, events and initiatives of the Bellevue City Council.

As a speech writer, you will play a crucial role in crafting impactful speeches and messages for key officials within Bellevue city government. The ideal candidate will have a strong command of language, excellent research skills, and the ability to translate complex ideas into compelling narratives.

The role may also include involvement in cross-departmental written communications projects and programs in support of the city as a whole. The person in this position must be able to establish effective relationships with other departments, the city council, community associations and residents, the business community, civic organizations, regional partners, the media, and various other interested parties.
