**
------------------------------------------------------------

The City of Orlando is issuing the following information to keep the community informed and updated on Hurricane Milton recovery.

Today, the city of Orlando is currently assessing neighborhoods for any damage and/or hazards in the community, including downed trees, traffic light outages, and power outages and encourage residents to use caution if going outside.

The city has emergency response crews out currently and is sharing the following information:

CITIZEN INFORMATION LINE

The Citizen Information Line – 407-246- HELP (4357) - remains open and operational. Residents are encouraged to call this line to report damage, downed trees, traffic lights that are out and to get information from the city on response efforts.

POWER RESTORATION

OUC crews are in the process of restoring power to more than 58,000 customers affected by the storm. Customers can report outages by calling 407-423-9018 or by texting “OUT” to 69682. If customers experience issues making contact, OUC asks that you reach out via its social channels on X (https://x.com/OUCreliableone?mc_cid=56b2dce92d&mc_eid=UNIQID) , Facebook (http://facebook.com/oucthereliableone?mc_cid=56b2dce92d&mc_eid=UNIQID) and Instagram (http://instagram.com/oucthereliableone?mc_cid=56b2dce92d&mc_eid=UNIQID) .

LIMIT WATER USAGE

As a result of the heavy rain brought by Hurricane Milton, the City of Orlando requests that residents continue to limit water use as the city’s Water Reclamation system is working at capacity. Please refrain from doing laundry, washing dishes, taking showers/baths and flushing toilets. Additional water usage like this will put additional pressure on these operations and could lead to sewage overflows.

LAKES & FLOODING

Streets and Stormwater crews are assessing any high-water levels following Hurricane Milton and the potential for issuing any Lake Alerts. As a precaution, please refrain from contact with standing water in the roadways, lakes or any other recreational activity.

TREES IMPACTING ROADWAYS
City staff are currently removing trees, including 27 known trees blocking roadways at this time.

TRAFFIC LIGHTS
The City of Orlando Transportation Engineering staff continues to work to restore power at impacted traffic lights. At this time, there are 20 devices without power, 24 with flashing lights and 360 without communication. This is out of a total of 408 devices.

TRANSPORTATION ADVICE
Because of all these reasons – flooding, debris and traffic light impacts - the city continues to encourage residents to shelter in place. If you must travel out, do not drive through standing water and treat downed traffic lights as four-way stops.

NEIGHBORHOOD CENTERS, PARKS AND RECREATION FACILITIES
