[Please be aware of suspicious phone calls]

Today, in Kisarazu City, I received a call from a person claiming to be from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, saying "This call will stop after 2 hours. If you would like to speak to an operator, please press 1." When you press 1, you are connected to an operator, who asks you for personal information such as your name and date of birth, and you receive a suspicious phone call that appears to be a phone de scam. Major telephone companies do not provide automated voice notification to stop using landlines.
These calls are a scam ！

If you hear someone complain that they will "stop your phone line" or "take you to court", never panic, hang up and consult your family or the police.


★ Family members on the phone （ even with real names ） ・ Police officers ・ Bank employees ・ Do not immediately trust them even if they claim to be city hall employees, etc., and do not easily answer with personal information or whether they are at home.

★ Even if you are at home, it is effective to use the answering machine function and avoid talking to the person.

★ There are also many scams in which people try to take your cash card. Do not give your card to anyone else or your PIN under any circumstances.
