Andy's Orchids This is a very special place.
More than 700,000 pots and over 7,000 varieties of orchids form a jungle of less than one acre of plants and flowers from all over the world.

Among them are not only Japanese orchids, but also decades-old haunted orchids and other species that seem to be in danger of losing their homes and becoming extinct due to environmental destruction.
For this reason they are also called "Noah's Ark".




Usually, the main sales are online, but during the Open House, which is held four times a year in spring, summer, fall, and winter, visitors can enter without reservation and free of charge. You can also see how the orchids are cultivated and, most importantly, you can talk directly with the owner, experienced staff, and other orchid and plant lovers.

This particular Fushimi Inari orchid place came into being when the owner, Andy Phillip, was 7 years old and was given two orchids as a gift. He was astonished by what he was told and could not believe it.
How come ？ they are the same type of plant? Why ？ are they so different in color and shape ？ compared to, say, roses, which are quite similar even though they are of different varieties ・? ？ Why are orchids classified as the same orchid when there is such a big difference between them?
It became a rare and special place in the world, and before I knew it, an orchid jungle had been created.


 This is a working nursery, not a retail shop, so some of the greenhouses have narrow aisles and are not wheelchair accessible. But you don't have to go deep into the jungle to enjoy it. One particular sycamore tree, a large dome-like tree with branches over 80 years old, makes you feel like you are in an oasis in the desert when you sit under its shade and look up at it on a hot summer day. There are many other booths outside the greenhouse, so there is much more to see than just the jungle.




Surrounded by orchids grown with love and care in this special place, it is sure to be a special weekend and inspiration.
