For those who live in Hawaii. Has anyone ever had an appendectomy?

I have been having a mysterious lower abdominal （ pain on the right ） side for a few days now, and I suspect it might be an appendectomy ？ but it's not enough to go to the doctor yet, so I've been enduring it.
Is there anyone in Hawaii who has had an appendectomy ？ do I need to be hospitalized ？ in Japan it is sometimes possible to do a day trip, but is it the same in the US?
I have insurance with an HMO, but what is the coverage? I would appreciate it if someone with knowledge or experience could tell me.
