Japan ・ Week, an annual event co-sponsored by the Bellevue ・ College Student Club and the Consulate-General of Japan in Seattle, will be held for the seventh time this year. Open to the public on September 30 （ Saturday ）, this year's featured guest is rakugo storyteller Katsura Sanki （ Sunshine ）, who just appeared on the long-running program "Tetsuko's Room" this past August, and his small talk about Japanese culture is a must-see. The movie "Survival ・ Family" （ with English subtitles ） will also be shown. Karaoke with unlimited singing, flea market with fun bargains, dumpling classes led by Japanese students, duckling scooping instead of goldfish scooping, collaboration of constellations and Japanese folktales at the university planetarium, puppet shows, picture-story shows, tea ceremony, flower arrangement, calligraphy, Go, drum performances, and more for the whole family, from children to elderly people, There are many events that can be enjoyed by the whole family, friends, colleagues, or even by yourself, all free of charge ！ If you come by car, you can park for free only at the Parking Garage.
There are various contests again this year. The Cosplay Contest, Japanese Trivia Quiz, Kendama Contest and the new Paper Airplane Contest will be held on campus on September 30. The kyaraben and origami contests are open until 11:59 p.m. on September 22 for photo submissions on the Japan Week website. There will be prizes for the winners.
We are also looking for 200 volunteers to help on the event day, September 30. Volunteers must be at least 15 years old to participate, and high school students can get volunteer ・ credits. Join us for a variety of events on Saturday, September 30, when the event opens to the public.
