To celebrate California Water Professionals Appreciation Week from October 5-13, Water & Sewer Utilities organized a staff photo to put faces to the hard-working individuals who tirelessly strive to provide the public with safe and reliable potable water, wastewater and recycled water service and infrastructure.

A sign of changing water priorities in California, this week's celebratory photo features the team's Directors, Water Construction & Metering, Water Operation & Maintenance, Sanitary Sewer Operations & Maintenance, Engineering, Compliance, Administration, Utility Systems Business and Conservation staff amidst water-wise landscaping that replaced the facility's lawn nearly a decade ago.

Take a moment to consider the effort required to bring clean drinking water to your home or place of business, rain or shine, drought or not. Think also about your wastewater and its path either being cleaned and released to San Francisco Bay or diverted for further cleaning to become recycled water that makes up 20% of Santa Clara's overall water use. It's no simple feat, yet these are services that we've all come to expect as part of daily life.
