On January 15, 2025, the Northeast American Hyogo Kenjinkai "Club Go! International Club will hold a memorial service to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake.

It has been 30 years since the Hanshin ・ Awaji Earthquake occurred on January 17, 1995, which caused the precious loss of life of 6,434 people and enormous damage.
Just before the Great Hanshin ・ Awaji Earthquake occurred on January 17, Japan time, we will hold a
memorial service and reception at the Japanese American National Community House on January 15 (Wed.), New York City time, as follows.

The memorial service will include guests of honor from the Consulate-General of Japan in New York, a requiem performance by soprano Tomoya Tanaka and pianist Yukika Mihara, and a moment of silence by Akinori Nakagaki, Vice President of the NY Buddhist Federation.

After the ceremony, there will be a reception by Club Go! and Kobe International Club, with refreshments catered by BentOn, lasting about an hour.
