Continued Attention: Protests in Los Angeles against Immigration and Customs Enforcement （ ICE ） （ Notice from the Consulate-General of Japan in Los Angeles ）

●As of 3pm on the 9th, protesters are gathering in the downtown area. No major clashes have been reported at this time, but the situation remains unpredictable.

●Japanese who are visiting or staying in the Little Tokyo area are asked to stay away from the area north of the Japanese American National Museum （ East ・ between Temple and Alameda Streets ） and the area of the Mayor's Building where protests are taking place. Please stay away from the areas where protests are taking place, including the area around the Mayor's Building. If you are driving, please be aware that the surrounding roads, including highways （ and 101 ）, may be closed, so please allow extra time and plan detour routes in advance.

●Please be aware of the possibility of unforeseen circumstances, especially during the nighttime in the downtown area, and refrain from going out unnecessarily at night.

●Because of the possibility that similar protests may take place in other areas in the future, Japanese citizens are urged to take the necessary precautions, such as staying away from areas where protests are taking place, and to obtain the latest information from news reports and other sources before traveling to the area.
