*City Council Considers Revisions to Exceptional Tree Ordinance*
At the September 9 meeting [ https://kenmore.civicweb.net/document/257260/ ], the Kenmore City Council will consider revisions [ https://kenmore.civicweb.net/FileStorage/E3FD542D98624770AA14EEA87E9E4177-Agenda%20Bill%20-%20Exceptional%20Trees%209.9.24%20with%20all%20ch.pdf ] to the Exceptional Tree Ordinance [ https://www.kenmorewa.gov/government/departments/development-services/trees ] it adopted in October 2023. In practice, a portion of the original ordinance may conflict with the City's obligations to allow for new housing stock. To remedy this issue, the City Council will consider potential amendments to allow removal of exceptional trees in limited circumstances when there is no feasible alternative. Amendments are intended to balance tree preservation and housing. Learn more [ https://www.kenmorewa.gov/government/departments/development-services/trees ].
