Department of Public Health’s Community Health Services (CHS) division is recruiting for a career service Social Worker position. The Social Worker is responsible for providing direct services to individuals and groups at the North Meridian Center for Health with the First Steps – Maternity Support Services (MSS) & Infant Case Management (ICM) program. The clinic serves a culturally diverse population speaking many different languages. MSS/ICM services are focused on improving the wellbeing of pregnant, post-pregnant individuals and infants through assessment, health education limited behavioral health counseling and crisis intervention, care coordination and referrals to meet client/family needs. Performance of duties may be autonomous and self-directed or provided as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Ideal candidates will exhibit excellent customer service and clinical skills, have the ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with our clients from various cultures, and communicate effectively with English as a Second Language (ESL) clients with the assistance of an interpreter. Ideal candidates will demonstrate initiative, flexibility, compassion, and positive team skills.

*Work Schedule*
This is a 1.0 FTE ( up to 40 hours) Career Service opportunity. It is subject to the Fair Labor Standards Act and overtime eligible. Work schedule may include occasional Saturdays based upon clinic service needs and may be required to work outside of these hours.
 
*Work Location*
The primary work location will be *Monday – Friday , 8:00am- 5:00pm* at the *North Public Health at Meridian Center for Health located at 10521 Meridian Ave N, Seattle WA  98133*.  The candidate may work in the field and at various King County Public Health Centers and satellite offices based on business need.
