During the event, located on 25th Avenue (between Flores and Hacienda), you can stroll along beautifully decorated storefronts and cast your vote for the most dazzling holiday display. You can also check out: Live performances by talented local school bands. Special holiday menus and specialty drinks from local restaurants. Registration for our winter session for starts next week on Tuesday, Dec. 10 at 9 a.m. for San Mateo residents and Dec. 12 at 9 a.m. for non-residents. Hosting Toy Drive Events with Santa on Dec. 12 & 14 During the holidays, the San Mateo Consolidated Fire Department's firefighters serve as Santa's helpers by collecting toys, from hosting donation barrels at all stations and Hillsdale Mall to their annual toy drive events where Santa makes a cameo appearance! On Dec, 12 they will host the "Santa at the Firehouse & Toy Drive" event, 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. at Station 14 in Belmont, featuring an apperance by Santa. Just bring an unwrapped toy for entry. On Dec. 14, they will host their annual pancake โ€œBreakfast with Santaโ€ event, 9-11:30 a.m. at Station 21 on Elsworth in Downtown San Mateo. Santa will arrive at 9:30 a.m. so please arrive early to make sure you don't miss photos with him on the 1921 fire engine, courtesy of Event Bros. Library News & Events Teen Event: Career of the Month with Greg Vatman Tuesday, Dec. 10 | 6 - 7 p.m. | Main Library, 1st Floor Oak Room The career of the Month series continues with a presentation led by Greg Vatman, senior software manager at Itron. Mr. Vatman holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Logistics and Business Law from Penn State University. After graduating, he began his career in technical consulting near Philadelphia before relocating to California to join a startup. He will share his insights developed through his 20 years of professional experience across various organizations, including the past 15 years at Itron.
