We want to take a moment to recognize the deployment of our officers and equipment to help those impacted by this disaster. Our deployment team along with other Miami-Dade departments have been deployed to offer critical support to those in need. Our officer’s willingness to voluntarily step forward reflects the selflessness that defines this profession. Time and again, they answer the call to protect and serve not only our immediate community but also those who find themselves in the grip of overwhelming challenges. It is during these times that the nobility of our profession truly shines. The willingness to step up and help those affected by such a catastrophic event demonstrates a commitment to making a real difference in people’s lives. Their bravery, compassion, and dedication are not only commendable but also serve as a beacon of hope to the communities they will be aiding. We are confident that the citizens of Tampa will feel the same sense of safety and relief that we experience here in South Miami and Miami-Dade county thanks to the service of our officers. Officer Training Highlight: Firearms Transition Training City of South Miami Police Department has completed firearms transition training, switching from Glock 40 to Glock 9mms with Holosun red dot technology which will enhance officer proficiency with firearms.
