The Tampa Parks and Recreation Department has won the 2021 National GOLD Medal Award for Excellence in Park & Recreation Management (https://www.tampa.gov/news/tampa-parks-and-recreation-department-awarded-national-gold-medal-award-excellence-84431) . Agencies are judged on their ability to address the needs of the communities they serve - highlighting the team's commitment to public safety, keeping kids safe & active, and providing top-of-the-line spaces to draw visitors to our City. After placing as a finalist for four years, this Grand Plaque Award in the Class II is a BIG WIN for our community!

See a pothole or sight obstruction? Report it with the new Fix It Fast! (https://www.tampa.gov/tss-transportation/fix-it-fast) As part of Mayor Jane Castor’s Transforming Tampa’s Tomorrow initiative, the new critical infrastructure response program focuses on delivering timely repairs within 72 hours after a report is filed.

Apply for the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)

Last Call: The City of Tampa Office of Emergency Management is looking for volunteers to join the City's Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). The program trains citizens to be prepared for and respond to emergencies that may arise in the community. Volunteers will attend one class a week for eight weeks that cover subjects including incident command, search and rescue, CPR, and basic firefighting. Classes start on September 29th! The all-newRight-of-Way Dashboard (http://www.tampa.gov/rightofway) improves the accessibility of City services by allowing residents to find information on 1) who is doing work in a public right-of-way, 2) the duration of the work, and 3) the permit number.

The City of Tampa Water Department is looking for a Water Production Plant Engineer (https://jobapscloud.com/Tampa/sup/bulpreview.asp?R1=210914&R2=510310&R3=005) to participate in the design, construction and operation of water systems. In addition to a bachelor’s degree in engineering with three years post-degree engineering experience or a Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) designation with five (5) years of experience, significant independent project completion experience is also required.
