Did you know you need a Forestry permit when working near public trees in Columbus? Whether you’re pruning or removing a street tree, planting in the tree lawn (the grassy area between the sidewalk and street) or starting a construction project that could affect a tree, a permit helps ensure our City’s trees are protected.

Get Ready for Youth Basketball Winter Leagues

Calling all young athletes—it’s time to hit the courts! Our Youth Basketball Winter Leagues are back, and registration opens Oct. 22 at 12:30 p.m. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to compete at a higher level, we’ve got a league for you. Registration opens Oct. 22 and closes Nov. 23 or when leagues are full. The season starts the week of Jan. 13. Your $50 registration fee ($30 PLAY scholarships are available [ https://columbusrecparks.com/connect/support/play/?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery ]) includes seven regular-season games, a uniform (jersey and shorts), officials for older age groups, and participation awards and postseason play for ages 10-18.
