David P. Hopkins Honored as Community Guide Champion
The Community Guide is pleased to announce that David P. Hopkins, MD, MPH has been awarded the Jonathan E. Fielding Community Guide Champion Award in recognition of his 27 years of exceptional service to the Community Preventive Services Task Force (CPSTF).
Dr. Hopkins joined the Community Guide Program in 1997. Over his 27-year career with The Community Guide, Dr. Hopkins led teams in completing more than 60 systematic reviews for a wide range of public health topics including tobacco prevention, vaccination, and physical activity. Throughout his career, Dr. Hopkins was involved with the refinement of Community Guide systematic review methods and dissemination of CPSTF recommendations.

What is a Community Guide Champion?
A Community Guide Champion enthusiastically supports or promotes the use of CPSTF findings and the systematic review and decision-making processes on which they are based. Community Guide Champions advance The Community Guide’s mission and promote evidence-based decision making in research and practice.
