The 10th of every month is "Traffic Safety Day （ Action 10 ）".
Under the slogan of "Yuzuru Mutual, Running with Heart on Chiba's Road," each and every one of us should deepen our awareness of traffic safety.

In March, the weather becomes nicer and more people go out, including pedestrians and cyclists. Be especially careful of small children running out of the car.
Let's avoid tragic traffic accidents by allowing plenty of time for both cars and people, and by observing traffic rules and proper traffic manners.

[For drivers of cars and bicycles]
○ When approaching a pedestrian crossing, you must slow down and proceed so that you can stop before the pedestrian crossing, unless it is obvious that no one is crossing. Slow down and check carefully to see if there are people on either side of you.
○ When there are pedestrians crossing or about to cross a pedestrian crossing, you must stop temporarily before the pedestrian crossing. Pedestrians have priority in crosswalks ！ Especially when turning right ・ Check carefully when turning left.
○ When pedestrians are crossing at or near an intersection without a pedestrian crossing, you must not obstruct pedestrian traffic. When approaching an intersection, be prepared for the possibility of pedestrians crossing.
○ When passing by pedestrians, you must keep a safe distance or slow down. Watch the movements of pedestrians and pass at a safe distance ・.
○ When a bicyclist uses a pedestrian crossing, he/she should get off his/her bicycle and cross.

[For pedestrians]
○ If there is a pedestrian crossing or an intersection with a traffic signal nearby, you must cross at that pedestrian crossing or intersection. When crossing at a pedestrian crossing, check both sides to see if there are cars coming.
○ The following ways of crossing are prohibited by law. It is dangerous and must be avoided at all costs.
