Public Health Seattle-King County Health Care for the Homeless (HCH) Mobile Medical Program Street Medicine team is hiring a career service Social Services Professional (SSP) to join our Seattle based team. We seek an individual who is self-directed, creative, flexible, and skilled in field-based clinical work as well as being committed to an anti-racist, trauma informed and harm reduction-based practice. There is flexibility for the position to be either part-time (0.8 FTE) or full-time (1.0 FTE). *We are also recruiting for a second role that is anticipated to work 8-hour shifts Thursday through Sunday.   *

 

The Street Medicine Team conducts outreach to and provides medical, behavioral health and social services directly to people experiencing homelessness in unsheltered settings. The Street Medicine team aims to engage people in health education, professional and peer support, and treatment for their medical and behavioral health conditions via a trauma-informed, antiracist, and harm reduction approach.

 

In this role, the SSP will work with the multidisciplinary Street Medicine Team that addresses the medical, behavioral health care and harm reduction needs of people living homeless. They provide outreach and engagement on the streets, shelters, encampments, and other community areas and advocate for clients’ access to community resources and services.

 

The SSP level work includes providing a wide range of social supports including but not limited to shelter, housing assessments and advocacy, appointment scheduling, harm reduction supply distribution and counseling, general health education, providing logistical and operational support to the team in the field, maintaining outreach calendars, and advocacy for system level issues to improve gaps in services for our clients.

*Work Schedule*

*This is a **part-time (0.8 FTE) or full-time (1.0 FTE) Career Service opportunity.* *Final FTE and work schedule to be determined at time of hire.* Work schedule Monday through Friday; 1.0 FTE- 4 ten-hour shifts with flexibility to adjust to 5 eight-hour shifts if necessary for business operations or 0.8 FTE- 4 eight-hour days. The second position is anticipated to work 8-hour shifts Thursday through Sunday.
