Upgrade Trend Micro Deep Security Windows Agents

Summary

The CMS Hybrid Cloud Team has determined that *CMS Cloud customers must upgrade Deep Security Windows agents to at least v20.0.1-3180 *to ensure a strong security posture. Upgrades will begin being ticketed on July 22nd. This communication provides updates on the latest enhancements to Trend Micro Deep Security Agent.

CMS customers who have consumed the April 2024 Gold Image (GI) or later as well as those who have already upgraded their agents to v20.0.1-3180 *do not require any action*.

Actions

* *CMS Cloud customers must upgrade Deep Security Windows agents to at least v20.0.1-3180 *to ensure a strong security posture.  
* On July 22nd, affected customers will receive Cloud Support tickets with upgrade instructions. Customers experiencing the impacts documented in the Trend Micro advisory will be prioritized.
* After customers receive Cloud Support tickets, they must upgrade their agents listed in the assigned ticket in alignment with their change management processes. Customers will work with their IUSG Advisors as necessary to complete these steps.
* After customers complete the final steps, they must update their Cloud Support ticket and the CMS Hybrid Cloud Team will verify that the agent has been upgraded.

Impact

* Windows agents that have not been upgraded to agent v20.0.1-3180 will have a high severity vulnerability for privilege escalation

Customers are *not* impacted when using one of the following:


* CMS GI released April 2024 or later 
* Agents already upgraded to v20.0.1-3180

Timeline

* *_July 22nd_* - Affected customers will receive Cloud Support tickets with upgrade instructions.
