We are seeking a skilled, enthusiastic, and dedicated Project Coordinator (Educator Consultant III) who can listen, build trust, skillfully communicate, and engage authentically with internal and external partners.
 
The successful candidate will need to be an independent self-starter who is skilled at collaboration to develop and implement strategies that: 
* Promote environmental justice
* Prevent lead and toxic exposures in children and families
The work requires a strong ability to build partnerships and to support diverse in-language and in-culture services and approaches, focusing on communities who are inequitably impacted by exposures to lead and other toxics.

" "*ABOUT THE LEAD AND TOXICS PROGRAM:*
The Lead and Toxics Program team includes five educator consultants and project/program managers who implement $1.5 million in grant-funded work each year including:
* Best Starts program activities under the Environmental Supports Strategy [ https://drive.google.com/file/d/1bTxY_nVAM3qQOHMXfIFD6miGaT7WJa3h/view ].
* A Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) funded grant to prevent childhood lead poisoning [ https://www.cdc.gov/nceh/lead/programs/seattle-king_county_washington.html ].
* An Environmental Protection Agency grant [ https://www.epa.gov/newsreleases/biden-harris-administration-announces-nearly-128-million-environmental-justice ] to support community climate resiliency and healthy home/child care environments. 
* A Washington Dept. of Ecology grant (Dirt Alert [ https://apps.ecology.wa.gov/dirtalert?lat=47.273840&lon=-122.500000&zoom=11 ]) to address soil contamination in the Tacoma Smelter Plume-affected areas of King County. 
The selected candidate will implement health education and community engagement activities across BSK Prenatal-5 programs, including managing a portfolio of community contracts. Best Starts for Kids (BSK) [ https://www.kingcounty.gov/depts/community-human-services/initiatives/best-starts-for-kids.aspx ]  is King County's initiative to improve the health and well-being of our residents by investing in promotion, prevention and early intervention programs and services for children, youth, families and communities. BSK emphasizes the promotion of positive development of children and youth, with the largest investments in pre-natal to children age five and continuing with early intervention services at critical milestones throughout childhood to early adulthood to reduce and prevent negative outcomes later in life. The initiative encourages innovation and multiculturalism built on the experiences and priorities of our community partners and residents, with multi-generational approaches planned to capitalize on strengths within families and communities.
