Naohiro Ukawa is an artist who launched Japan's first live streaming ・ channel "DOMMUNE （ DOMMUNE ）" in 2010, and has made a significant impact on the cutting-edge art scene in Japan and abroad by delivering talks, DJs and live performances.

Meet bats — live and up close — in this multisensory exhibition exploring the wondrous world of bats and our connections with them. The only mammals that can truly fly, these animals have developed a host of superpowers that have benefited both humans and habitats around the world. Yet bats remain shrouded in mystery.

Aerospace enthusiasts vividly remember when they fell in love with flight. The Museum-wide Art+Flight project offers sculpture, painting, photography, installation, and new media, to realize our feelings, enhance our perceptions, and remind us of the awe and joy of flight through the materiality of art.

Featuring the work of the Guma’ Gela’, a queer CHamoru art collective made up of members from the Marianas and in the diaspora. This exhibit explores their motto “part land, part sea, all ancestry” through a broad spectrum of media to build a connection with CHamoru life, history, and traditions.

This site-specific Design and Build outreach installation was created collaboratively by Design and Build program alumni and local artists, Scottie Burgess and Tiffany Matheson. The project was created in partnership with the Lowry Foundation as part of several artworks that contribute to the Lowry Art + Architecture loop, which celebrates the Lowry Foundation’s 25th anniversary. Furthermore, this exhibition was created through partial funding received from Denver Arts & Venues’ P.S. You Are Here grant program, Clark’s Market and MOA.

The Arts of Oceania gallery will reopen with the presentation of a new temporary exhibition, Islands Beyond Blue: Niki Hastings-McFall and Treasures from the Oceania Collection. This presentation showcases the work of celebrated contemporary artist Niki Hastings-McFall, who will create site-specific work in conversation with works from the DAM’s Arts of Oceania collection.

Encompassing 16,000 square feet across two floors, the newly installed Modern and Contemporary Art galleries feature selections from the museum’s collection of approximately 8,000 artworks made between 1900 and today, as well as from collecting areas in African arts, Indigenous arts of North America, Latin American art, photography and textile art and fashion.

Community can be defined as a group of people who have shared characteristics or inhabit the same space. Drawing from works in the collection stewarded by the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center, Mi Gente: Manifestations of Community in the Southwest considers community within a landscape that has been shaped by colonization and migration. Focusing primarily on works by Chicanx/a/o, Hispanic, and Mexican American artists based in New Mexico and Colorado, Mi Gente considers the politics and complexities of community, including those who are perceived as outsiders.

A collaborative, contemporary art exhibit created by the Longmont Museum and the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art, "agriCULTURE: Art Inspired by the Land,” pairs more than 15 local and national artists with farmers throughout Boulder County to create three site-specific, new visual works. The exhibit draws on the expertise of farmers and the inspiration of nature and invites visitors to examine their own connections to the land and natural world. This multi-venue exhibition features art at both museums, plus three local farms: Ollin Farms in Longmont, the Boulder JCC Milk & Honey Farm and the Agricultural Heritage Center in Longmont. Experience multi-media artwork that explores how farming is connected to issues such as climate change, water rights, ancestral lands, local history, environmental impacts, cultural heritage, and so much more.

The Tender Loving Care: Contemporary Art from the Collection exhibit invites visitors to explore how contemporary artists trace and address concepts of care through their materials, subjects, ideas, and processes. At their core, creating and looking at works of art are acts of care, from the artist’s labor to the viewer’s contemplation and appreciation. Storage, conservation, and display are also ways of tending to art.
