Kurashi-no-Botanical Garden Special Program "Traditional Cherry Blossoms

About 400 varieties of primroses from the Edo period to the present day are exhibited in one place !.
Since 2002, the museum's Botanical Garden for Life has been exhibiting cherry trees under the title "Traditional Cherry Blossoms.
"Traditional Cherry Blossoms" refers to a series of cherry blossom plants that have been produced since the mid-Edo period (( Edo ・ Meiji ・ Taisho ・ Showa )) by gardeners who have searched for unusual flowers among wild plants and produced many varieties. The flowers vary in color from light red, purple, and white, and in shape from flat to clasping. In addition to displaying cherry trees with such a variety of flower colors ・ and flower shapes, the museum also recreates the traditional way of viewing cherry trees by using a cherry flower bed donated in 2003. In addition, double-flowered varieties collected in 2007, wild-type varieties collected in 2010, and modern new flowers collected between 2013 and 2015 will also be exhibited.
In addition, this year's theme of "Flowering and Non-flowering Winter Buds" will show how the different sizes of winter buds planted on Primula 'Nanjing Kozakura' affect the flowering rate and the number of flowers per flower stalk in early spring. In addition, a panel will present the results of a survey of post-flowering growth trends, including maximum leaf length and number of leaves, as well as the number and size of shoots produced after summer.
