My Westchester Newsletter – Special Edition: National Public Health Week – April 9, 2021

In honor of National Public Health Week, Westchester County Government is shining a spotlight on the Westchester County Health Department. Read more below about the different divisions, and the ways they help to protect our health and safety.

Westchester County’s Health Promotion team educates us about healthy lifestyles to combat hypertension, diabetes, stroke and other conditions.

This team organizes clinics for mass vaccination response to events like COVID-19. Planning and evaluation staff analyze data to keep the community informed.

This unit works with medical providers and the public to prevent the spread of disease through surveillance programs, as well as case and outbreak investigations.

Services for kids with developmental disabilities provided through Children with Special Needs program, nutrition education through WIC Program.

Staff protect us from animal/insect borne diseases through testing, and ensure our air, food and water are clean through regular inspections.

Health professionals improve access to health insurance, and provide services for HIV, TB and other sexually transmitted infections at clinics in Yonkers and White Plains.
