NGV Triennial 2023 is a powerful and moving snapshot of the world today as captured through the work of 100 artists, designers, and collectives at the forefront of global contemporary practice. Bringing contemporary art, design and architecture into dialogue with one another and traversing all four levels of NGV International, the NGV Triennial features more than 75 projects inviting us to reflect on the world as it is, while also asking how we would like it to be.

Inspired by Disney’s Mickey Mouse, this must-see exhibition visits Asia for the first time ever and is filled with magical surprises and photo opportunities.

The work of percussionist, producer, and educator Antonio M. Gomez pursues the interwoven histories of world music. The exhibition features a custom-built tarima – a traditional Mexican percussive platform that amplifies the sounds of dancers’ feet – and a global array of instruments drawn from Gomez’s extensive collection.

The Skeletal World of José Guadalupe Posada presents the work of the iconic 19th-century Mexican artist and lithographer whose illustrations of skeletal figures known as "calaveras" and "catrinas" have become an essential part of Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebrations.

This exhibition brings together one hundred watercolours made by Arrernte, Western Arrernte, and Kemarre/Loritja artists working at Hermannsburg, across generations. Among these are key new acquisitions by Albert Namatjira, one of Australia’s most well-known artists, whose landscapes are synonymous with the Central Australian outback.

本展は〈存在の鳥〉、〈破庵〉、〈聖〉の3つの作品シリーズから、近作および新作を紹介します。現代絵画の最前線で活躍する中村の鮮烈な色彩とエネルギーあふれる作品を、かつて20年以上居住していたゆかりの地、川越でご覧いただく絶好の機会です。

Katsushika Hokusai has become one of the most famous and influential artists in the world. This major exhibition organized by the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, takes a new approach to the work of the versatile master, pairing more than 100 of his woodblock prints, paintings, and illustrated books from the MFA’s renowned collection with more than 200 works by his teachers, students, rivals, and admirers.

10月19日より、日本クラブ７階の日本ギャラリーでは、ニューヨーク在住の洋画家・土肥信一氏と東京・品川区在住の金属造形作家・平岩共代氏による二人展を開催いたします。

Whimsical children’s book illustrations highlight animals and nature as a source of love, wonder and joy. Featuring more than 30 framed illustrations from the Little Golden Books series, vintage books and a reading nook, Golden Legacy features works from some of the best-known children’s books of the past 80 years, including “The Poky Little Puppy” illustrated by Gustaf Tenggren and “Chicken Little” illustrated by Richard Scarry. First published in 1942, Little Golden Books have delighted generations of readers. When children’s books were a luxury, the company used a uniform size to sell picture books at a modest price, making reading more accessible to families across the United States. Today, Little Golden Books boasts more than 700 book titles through Penguin Random House and has featured numerous Caldecott Medal-winning illustrators. This exhibition was organized by the National Center for Children's Illustrated Literature, Abilene, Texas.

Amoako Boafo: Soul of Black Folks is the debut museum solo exhibition tour for Ghanaian artist Amoako Boafo (born 1984). One of the most acclaimed artists of his generation, Boafo’s works focus the viewers’ gaze on his subjects’ presence through his portraits representing Black life.

Fashioned by Sargent is on view at the MFA Boston from October 8, 2023–January 15, 2024.

今回の企画展で紹介する梅崎雲嶺は、明治14年、福岡県大牟田市に生まれ、昭和37年に81歳で没するまでの生涯、中央画壇と一線を画し、清貧の中で南画を深く追求した孤高の文人画家です。明治末期には、朝鮮半島、中国大陸に渡って独学で研鑽に励み、深い精神性に富んだ清爽な画風を確立させました。

As a poet of daily life in Latin America and a pioneer of figurative art, Botero has been creating art for more than 60 years, in a unique, sumptuous style that is immediately recognizable known as “Boterismo”.
