Saturday, Oct. 12, 1 to 3 p.m.

It’s that time of year to begin thinking about which new fruit trees to add to your garden orchard and how to successfully manage existing trees. Topics include selection, pruning, disease and pest management. Our speaker will be Sharon McCray, who has been a UCCE Master Gardener since 1992.

IN-PERSON: Adults Create: Day of the Dead Decorations

*Sunday, Oct. 13, 3 to 5 p.m. *

Create decorations for Día de Muertos! Local artist group Pink Brushes will guide you in painting sugar skulls and making papel picado in preparation for the Mexican Day of the Dead. Learn about the holiday's colorful traditions at this craft program.

 

This program will take place in the Library Program Room.

 

Registration is not required but space and supplies will be limited.

(RESCHEDULED from Tuesday, Oct 22)

Join us in the Program Room for a lightly moderated discussion of death over tea and snacks, led by local end-of-life doulas Ka Yun and Annie.

 

At a Death Café, people—often strangers—gather to discuss death. We invite people in all phases of life to come talk about death and dying in a supportive, unstructured way. It is a discussion group rather than a grief support or counselling session.

 

This program is for adults only. Registration is not required.
