10/20/2024 - DevOps Services Maintenance

*Summary*

CMS Cloud will perform maintenance updates on its DevOps tools.

*Actions we are taking*


* Upgrade CloudBees Jenkins CI, Jfrog, ans SonarQube.
* Upgrade nodes to latest EKS gold image for CMS Cloud Jfrog, CBJ and SonarQube.
* Upgrade EKS add-ons and supporting components.
* Update jenkins-east ssl certificate.

*When is this happening?*

Start Time: Sunday, 10/20/2024 at 12:00 a.m. ET
End Time: Sunday, 10/20/2024 at 4:00 a.m. ET

*Who will be impacted?*

All AWS Commercial and GovCloud customers of CloudBees, JFrog, and SonarQube.

*What is the impact? *

Customers should expect a short downtime for each service as instances are restarted within the maintenance window.

*Actions we are taking: *

As part of our normal patching, the CMS Cloud team will apply the latest Windows and Linux patches on Wednesday, 10/23/2024 at 9:00 p.m. ET.  The week's patches will impact the PROD environment for the affected Non-Marketplace applications noted below.

Start Time: Wednesday, 10/23/2024 at 9:00 p.m. ET

End Time: Thursday, 10/24/2024 at 2:00 a.m ET

*Reminder - Open Enrollment (OE12) - Moratorium*

*Summary*

To help ensure that we maintain good system performance and stability during CMS Healthcare Open Enrollment, an annual Moratorium period has been established to shift the scheduling of production system changes into a designated weekly maintenance windows which occurs on most Sundays.

Start time: Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at 12:00 a.m. ET

End time: Thursday, January 16, 2025 at 5:00 a.m. ET

*October 1 – Start of Moratorium*

*October 6, 13, 20 – Maintenance Window (Sunday 12:00 AM – 12:00 PM)*

October 6 is also the Production patching date for the September (Victor) patching cycle- This will be the last Marketplace patching event prior to Open enrollment (OE12) beginning.

*Who will be impacted?*

Any Hybrid Cloud IT Operations team planning to make a change to a system supporting the CMS Healthcare Marketplace either directly or indirectly.
