Dear Friends,

Today, my team and I set out to five different locations for our 7th Annual Day of Giving. It was an action-packed day of service, support, and smiles in the Fifth District!

Since 2018, we've dedicated the day before Thanksgiving to partner with community organizations to serve their clients. Each year, I'm thankful for the opportunity to get involved in this heartfelt, hands-on work to help our neighbors. It's the perfect way to get into the holiday spirit and spotlight the incredible community groups who are investing in Los Angeles County every day. I'm truly thankful to all the residents who give their time to others who need it most. This holiday season, I hope you find opportunities to lend a helping hand to a cause close to your heart, too.

I joined our team at the San Dimas Senior Center (https://sandimasca.gov/departments/parks_and_recreation/senior_services/index.php) for a morning filled with food and fun. We set up game stations for some friendly competition, made goodies to hand out, and served up delicious food. We had a terrific time talking with guests (https://www.ywcasgv.org/senior-services/) and getting them in the holiday spirit.
Foothill Unity Center (https://foothillunitycenter.org/) does incredible work to bring supportive services to residents in need, including food, health care, crisis case management, career development, and housing and homelessness services. For 40 years, they've truly lived up to their mission of "neighbors helping neighbors." My staff was grateful to join them in Pasadena to pass out food boxes to equip residents with everything they need for their Thanksgiving meals tomorrow.
Our SCV team returned to the Bella Vida Senior Center (https://myscvcoa.org/) this year to dish out a delicious lunch. Located in the heart of the City of Santa Clarita, the center is a beloved gathering space for the community throughout the year. It was a lively, engaged crowd who came with big appetites and left with big smiles.
Staff members headed to the Glendale Adult Recreation Center (https://www.glendaleca.gov/government/departments/community-services-parks/parks-facilities-historic-sites/adult-recreation-center#ad-image-0) for an afternoon of festive fun. Residents know they can depend on the center for wellness programs, engaging activities, and time with their friends. Today, seniors enjoyed one another's company and a great plate of food.
My team joined the Antelope Valley Senior Center (https://ad.lacounty.gov/services/community-and-senior-centers/antelope-valley-senior-center/) in Lancaster for lunch, passing out plates and topping off coffee. Throughout the year, locals go to the center for services, skill building classes, and social activities. The lunch room was filled with chatter as guests talked about their holiday plans.
