Public Health – Seattle and King County values diverse perspectives and life experiences. The Policy and Strategy team in the Office of the Director in Public Health-Seattle & King County (Public Health) is seeking a *P**ublic Health Accreditation Coordinator (Project/Program Manager II)* who will bring their lived experiences and project management expertise to lead the department’s public health accreditation process. 

 

This position will lead the day-to-day communications, coordination, development, and management of the department’s public health accreditation processes. The position will work with the Policy and Strategy team and with a team of planning leaders across the department to successfully prepare and submit accreditation materials. This position will also support activities related to accreditation, such as development of the Community Health Improvement Plan and the department’s performance management activities. The position will work with staff in Public Health in the context of Racism as a Public Health Crisis and public health-related aspects of the King County Equity and Social Justice Strategic Plan. The position will be a member of the Policy and Strategy team and will report to the Strategic Planning Manager.

 

*Background*

The Policy and Strategy team: 


* Collaborates with Local/State/Federal legislative and policy affairs, Board of Health, Community Partnerships, and intergovernmental affairs. 
* Coordinates with local, regional, state & federal partners, elected officials, and partners, administers Board of Health. 
* Supports performance management and best run government objectives. 
* Develops and ensures alignment with strategic goals and priorities.

Term-Limited Temporary positions are "at-will" positions but are eligible for benefits. *This TLT is currently anticipated to last two (2) years. *However, funding sources for this work remain uncertain and dependent upon decisions actively being made at both the federal and local levels. As a result, the end date of this position may be adjusted based on those decisions.  The County and the Department continue to work to secure long term funding sources.

This vacancy can also be filled as a Special Duty opportunity. For Special Duty Assignment interest, you must be a Career Service, Career Service Exempt or other regular (non-temporary) employee in King County who has completed their initial County probation. You must have supervisor approval prior to taking a Special Duty Assignment.

*Work Schedule*

This position is exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay. The work schedule for this full-time position is normally Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Alternative work schedules may be considered. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.

 

*Work Location*

This position is based out of the Chinook Building, 401 5th Ave, Seattle, WA 98104. 

 

Teleworking:

Some of the work associated with this position will be performed through teleworking, and will report to office location and to meetings as needed. Travel to other work locations may be necessary. Employees will have access to shared workspaces at various King County facilities. Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements. 

 

Employees will be provided with a County issued laptop and must maintain a workspace with an internet connection where they can reliably perform work and remain available and responsive during scheduled work hours.  To support employees during this time King County has a robust collection of tools and resources to support working remotely. The individual selected for this opportunity will be joining an innovative and progressive team.
