United Against Hate Week [ https://www.fremont.gov/Home/Components/News/News/1079/1067 ]
City of Fremont Participates in United Against Hate Week

On September 17, 2024, the Fremont City Council proclaimed the week of September 21 through September 27, 2024, as Bay Area Stands United Against Hate Week in the City of Fremont. Designed to bridge divisions and bring communities together, this week seeks to find solutions for eliminating hate and intolerance, while promoting justice, fairness, and equal treatment for all.

As part of the United Against Hate week campaign, Compassionate Fremont, a local grassroots organization dedicated to compassion and equity, along with the City of Fremont Human Relations Commission, spearheaded, produced and distributed 5,000 posters across Fremont as part of an effort to combat hate and foster respect and inclusivity. In addition, Compassionate Fremont and the City of Fremont Human Relations Commission continue to sponsor, along with other organizations, United Against Hate activities. Also, International Day of Peace is on September 21. This year’s theme is Cultivating Peace.

The City of Fremont will continue to stand firmly with other cities in the Bay Area who believe in fairness, justice, and equal treatment of all, and will work with our community to eliminate hatred and intolerance. The City supports the efforts of Compassionate Fremont, the Tri City Interfaith Council, and the Human Relations Commission to create an inclusive city, welcoming of diversity.
