** These organizations dropped some Love Potion No. 9 on us and Abracadabra
------------------------------------------------------------

Love comes in different shapes and sizes, and our love is multifaceted. Instead of supplying gourds of ooey gooey candy, City Council recently approved funding to support arts, cultural and human services organizations and local businesses. This funding represents our commitment to enhancing the quality of life for all Orlando residents. We are investing in these essential sectors, recognizing the role they play in making Orlando a vibrant, welcoming, and supportive city.

The recipients include:
* United Arts and Orlando Science Center – these arts and cultural organizations enable us to have a vibrant community where arts and culture flourish.
* Best Foot Forward and Shingle Creek Kirkman Trail – help us improve pedestrian and bicyclist safety
* Black Business Development Corporation, Central Florida Social Enterprise Accelerator and Starter Studio - support community partners who drive economic growth and activity, from providing resources to minority-owned businesses, entrepreneurs and start-ups, to supporting Orlando’s growing tech scene.

** Avoid the Highway to Hell, take alternative transportation
------------------------------------------------------------

Standstill traffic in that hearse of yours is probably starting to grate on your nerves. Look for different opportunities during next week’s Mobility Week, where we talk about the available safe, multimodal transportation choices that are available to Central Floridians.

Micromobility Monday

Experience the convenience and excitement of micromobility in Orlando. All day long, Monday, October 28, micromobility providers will offer discounted rides for event participants as part of the Florida Department of Transportation’s annual Mobility Week schedule of events.
* Bird: Use code ‘24orlando’ in the Bird app on October 28 to get $5 off a ride
* Lime: Use code ‘mobilityweek’ in the Lime app to get 50% off two rides from October 28 through November 1
* Veo: Use code ‘WELCOME24’ in the Veo app on October 28 to get $5 off a ride

Try Transit Tuesday with LYNX and SunRail

On Try Transit Tuesday, October 29, both LYNX and SunRail are offering fare-free rides for an entire day, allowing you to explore Central Florida without spending a dime. Take advantage of this opportunity to experience public transit, reduce your travel costs and enjoy a stress-free commute.

Visit the golynx.com or sunrail.com to plan your next trip.

** Getting closer to Vision Zero - Hicks Avenue is done
------------------------------------------------------------

We're excited to announce the completion of the Hicks Avenue Extension project. This important roadway improvement in downtown is another step toward achieving our Vision Zero goal of safer, more complete streets in Orlando.

In partnership with the Florida Department of Transportation, this project enhances connectivity, improves pedestrian safety, and includes new and efficient stormwater drainage and sewer systems.

Improvements include:
* Widened sidewalks for pedestrians
* Dedicated bike lanes for cyclists
* Improved traffic flow
* On street parking
* Easy access to I-4
* Enhanced stormwater management

Check out the photos to see the new and improved area. ** Don’t forget to say “trick or treatment”
------------------------------------------------------------

In 2014, Aiha Truong helped open Dr. Phillips Specialty Pharmacy to provide customers with one-on-one assistance and care to support the health and wellness needs of all Orlando residents.

Aiha has more than two decades worth of pharmacy knowledge, beginning her career in 1997 working in retail pharmacy. In those early years, Aiha quickly realized her goal was less about making the large volume pharmacy sales, and more about creating lasting change in the lives of her patients through individualized treatments. Aiha received her Doctor of Pharmacy from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy in 2002 and went on to specialize in anti-aging and hormone therapy; knowledge that plays an integral role in how she treats her customers today.

For the past 10 years, Aiha has found great fulfillment in sharing her personal health journey and experiences, spending quality time with each patient and using her specialized knowledge to help treat the root causes of her patients’ ailments, coupled with providing traditional pharmacy services. Dr. Phillips Specialty Pharmacy provides a one-stop shop – from refilling prescriptions to working to create overall health rejuvenation plans tailored to each customer.

To visit Aiha and her team, head to 1430 North Mills Avenue, or learn more at drpspharmacy.com.
