Updated 2024 APM Incentive Payment Details Available; Learn if Action Needed by 9/1

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) recently published updated 2024 Alternative Payment Model (APM) Incentive Payment details [ https://qpp-cm-prod-content.s3.amazonaws.com/uploads/2925/2024-Learning-Resources-for-QP-Status-and-APM-Incentive-Payment.zip ] on the Quality Payment Program (QPP) Resource Library [ https://qpp.cms.gov/resources/resource-library ]. Eligible clinicians who were Qualifying APM Participants (QPs) based on their 2022 performance should have started receiving their 2024 APM incentive payments earlier this summer. For more information, including an updated list of unpaid QPs to whom CMS has been unable to disburse payments, please review the Public Notice file in the 2024 QP Notice for APM Incentive Payment (ZIP, 599KB) [ https://qpp-cm-prod-content.s3.amazonaws.com/uploads/2924/2024-QP-Notice-for-APM-Incentive-Payment.zip ].

*Access APM Incentive Payment Details*

CMS has taken time to ensure correct payment and information are available during the 2024 payment year. CMS' process includes verifying eligible clinicians' Advanced APM participation and the calculation of the APM Incentive Payment.

You can now log in to the QPP website [ https://qpp.cms.gov/login ] using your HARP credentials (ZIP, 3MB) [ https://qpp-cm-prod-content.s3.amazonaws.com/uploads/2955/QPP-Access-User-Guide.zip ] to see the amount and the organization paid for both the 10-digit National Provider Identifier (NPI) and the organization.

*What Do I Need to Do in Order to Receive the APM Incentive Payment?*

You won't need to do anything to receive your payment, unless CMS is unable to verify your Medicare billing information.

If you *haven't received your payment*, you should check for your name on the updated 2024 QP Notice for APM Incentive Payment (ZIP, 599KB) [ https://qpp-cm-prod-content.s3.amazonaws.com/uploads/2924/2024-QP-Notice-for-APM-Incentive-Payment.zip ], which indicates that you'll need to verify your Medicare billing information. If you don't verify your Medicare billing information *by September 1, 2024*, then CMS won't be able to issue your APM Incentive Payment. For instructions on how to verify your Medicare billing information, review the 2024 QP Notice for APM Incentive Payment (ZIP, 599KB) [ https://qpp-cm-prod-content.s3.amazonaws.com/uploads/2924/2024-QP-Notice-for-APM-Incentive-Payment.zip ] and Federal Register notice [ https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2024/07/17/2024-15644/medicare-program-alternative-payment-model-apm-incentive-payment-advisory-for-clinicians-request-for ].

Reminder: Register Now for the 2025 Self-Nomination and QCDR Measure Submission Question and Answer Session on August 22

As a reminder, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) will host a virtual question and answer (Q&A) session on *Thursday, August 22, 2024,* from *1 – 2:30 p.m. ET. *Participants can ask questions during this Q&A session about the Qualified Clinical Data Registry (QCDR) and Qualified Registry Self-Nomination and QCDR Measure Submission processes for the 2025 Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) performance period.

Participants are also encouraged to ask questions regarding the QCDR and Qualified Registry Self-Nomination forms available on the Quality Payment Program (QPP) website [ https://qpp.cms.gov/ ] as well as the QCDR Measure Submission process for those submitting QCDR measures.

*What are QCDRs and Qualified Registries?*

QCDRs and Qualified Registries are CMS-approved third party intermediaries that collect clinical data on behalf of clinicians for data submission. Only intermediaries that want to become (and that meet the requirements of) a QCDR and/or Qualified Registry need to complete the Self-Nomination form.

You should attend the session if your organization plans to self-nominate as a 2025 QCDR or Qualified Registry. Participation in this session is optional. MIPS eligible clinicians, groups, virtual groups, subgroups, and Alternative Payment Model (APM) Entities that want to report for the 2025 MIPS performance year via a QCDR or Qualified Registry reporting mechanism don’t need to self-nominate.
