Exhibition Dates: *Through* April 26, 2025**

We are eager to host Amanda Jenkinson in the Vault Gallery!

*Artist Statement:*

"I am 26 years old at the time of creation and exhibition of this piece, "Tentative. "The inspiration for this soft sculpture is quite personal. Its concept had been floating in my mind for many months, and foundationally coincided with an emotional journey involving my relationship with the potentiality of motherhood. My age is important here, as I have been firmly placed between two immediate, diverging paths.

Choosing whether I should or should not have kids has been existentially confounding to me. I have many desires that lie in each direction, and many fears, and many mixed emotions. Creating this soft sculpture from start to finish over the course of this internal discourse was a meditative exercise.

Embedded in the hand-sewn patches of this piece are pomelo membranes. These skins are representative of the body, of a tree bearing fruit, and of a fruit bearing seeds. Sewn in as quilt patches on a patterned skin, this amorphous sculptural form alludes to my nebulous thoughts on the topic of motherhood.” -Amanda Jenkinson

"I will create and installation using Nebula, the Giant illuminated Clouded Leopard Puppet. She is warmly colored in tea dyed silk with moving parts. Like any puppet she can be displayed in multiple positions depending on the site. She can be illuminated within, lit from the exterior, or a combination of both.

Beautifully crafted giant puppets are lightweight, articulated and illuminated - Made from reed, paper, Tyvek and silk.  Engineered to be easy to move for play. The giant puppets are designed to delight children and adults. When children giggle, I have succeeded.” -Sarah Lovett

Gabriella Nirino

*Auburn Community and Event Center Gallery [ https://www.auburnwa.gov/cms/one.aspx?portalId=11470638&pageId=12529095 ]
910 Ninth St. SE*

Artists:* Gabriela Nirino
*Exhibition Dates: *Through* *March 6, 2025*

"“"I am a weaver. The first thing I think about when I find something new is whether it can become a yarn or be woven" Says Gabriela Nirino, our next Auburn Community Center artist. "Weaving opens up the possibility of building a world almost out of nothing, making order out of chaos."  Nirino prioritizes using recycled fibers in her art. "I am particularly interested in natural, recycled and found materials because I feel a responsibility every time I decide to bring a new object to the world. To make a new object is building a new meaning. I am interested in working with what it is around me, to give value to forgotten materials."

Sharon Gottula

*Cheryl Sallee Gallery [ https://www.auburnwa.gov/cms/one.aspx?portalId=11470638&pageId=12529095 ]
**Auburn Senior Center
808 Ninth St. SE*

*Sharon Gottula [ https://sharongottula.com/ ]*
Exhibition Dates:* Through March 5, 2025*

In her encaustic pieces, Gottula juxtaposes transparent and opaque layers, integrating photography, fabric, and paper to create a complex, narrative storyline. Through this combination of diverse elements, she chronicles the transient nature of memory, captures the fragmented moments of human existence, and reflects upon the endangered fragility of our surroundings.
