City Council Starts Review Process

Over 2 years, 70 events, and 7000 individuals, 78 events have gone into shaping the Draft Update to the Comprehensive Plan. Now it's time for City Council to review and vote to adopt. Community members are encouraged to attend the following meetings and provide comment.


* *September 10* – Review the Planning Commission Recommendation for the Comprehensive Plan update and the BelRed Look Forward update.
* *September 24* – Respond to Questions raised by Council at the September 10 meeting.
* *October 22* – Take Action on the Comprehensive Plan Periodic Update and the BelRed Look Forward update.

City Council meetings are conducted in a hybrid manner with options to attend and provide comment in-person or virtually. Neighborhood Planning in Crossroads and Newport Gets Ready to Launch

The planning team is also preparing to relaunch the Great Neighborhoods program later this fall. This effort focuses on updating neighborhood area plans. The city will be working with community members to identify opportunities for improving and enhancing gathering places, public spaces, mobility options, and more.
