*ePermitsMV Expands Online Services*





Blueprint Plans





ePermitsMV now offers more online permitting services!

The City of Mountain View's Phase II launch of the online permitting platform now includes planning permits, heritage tree removal permits and public works permits in addition to the existing online building and fire permitting services.

ePermitsMV debuted in April 2023, making it easier for anyone seeking building permits to submit their permits electronically and have 24/7 access to permit status.

With this upgrade, ePermitsMV is the central location for all customer development permit needs.

MVCPA Nominated in "Best of Silicon Valley"





Best of Silicon Valley





The Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts is nominated for “Best Performing Arts Center” in the Metro Silicon Valley’s “Best of Silicon Valley 2024” Awards!

The voting period is now open so make sure to support our wonderful performing arts center. Every participant will be entered in a contest to win two adult tickets for a day excursion on a Chardonnay Sailing Charter in Santa Cruz. Only one vote per person.

El Camino Real Construction Updates





Paving Road




El Camino Real, also known as State Route 82, is owned and operated by the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans). The Caltrans El Camino Real Pavement Maintenance Project [ https://www.mountainview.gov/our-city/departments/public-works/city-projects-bids/el-camino-real-improvements ] will bring much anticipated bicycle, pedestrian and roadway condition improvements.

Caltrans is currently wrapping up the ADA curb ramp installations in Mountain View. The next phase of paving work will tentatively begin in mid-August with localized pothole and base repairs. This will be followed in early September with pavement grinding and hot mixed asphalt installation.

*Lane Closures: Beginning Mid-August*
*9 p.m. - 7 a.m.: Northbound*
*10 p.m. - 8 a.m.: Southbound*

All paving work will occur at night. Paving work is expected to be complete by the end of November 2024.

Afterwards, the on-street parking lane will be replaced by bike and pedestrian improvements including the installation of three new pedestrian crossings.

This work by Caltrans is anticipated to continue into spring 2025 and is weather dependent.

The Friends of the Mountain View Library will hold its next Book Sale the weekend of Aug. 10 - 11. Come and find great bargains on gently used books for adults and youth, DVDs, CDs and more. Funds raised will support Library programs including upcoming Summer Reading events and prizes.

Safely dispose of unwanted household hazardous wastes, including paint, batteries, electronics, garden chemicals, propane tanks, fluorescent and LED lightbulbs, household cleaners, oil and more.

Appointments are required. Bring proof of Santa Clara County residency (e.g., driver’s license or utility bill) to the event.

If you can’t attend on Aug. 24, the County has permanent hazardous waste drop-off facilities available year-round to county residents by appointment.

Summer Vibes Continue at "Music on Castro"

Music on Castro continues every Wednesday as singer/songwriters perform live music on the 200 block of Castro Street. Come out to enjoy the free entertainment while shopping, dining and playing downtown.

Join in the fun community atmosphere with Concerts on the Plaza! Grab your blanket or lawn chair and be ready with your best dancing moves. Bringing their electric hits and pop rock sound this Friday is Under the Covers.
