The Office of Law Enforcement Oversight (OLEO) seeks a policy analyst to join our team. The primary responsibilities will be to research, analyze, and make recommendations for improvement of policies relating to public safety, police practices, and the criminal legal system. The policy analyst may lead or contribute to OLEO's policy projects; work with external stakeholders; monitor relevant local, state, and federal policy; and collaborate across all OLEO programs.
 
The successful candidate will make and advance recommendations for improving public safety policies by assessing the Sheriff's Office's systems, analyzing leading policies on police practices, and incorporating community interests. The preferred candidate will have experience with public policy; working on issues relating to public safety, police practices, and the criminal legal system; and providing information and recommendations in a compelling manner.
