LIVESTREAM EARTH DAY SHINTO CEREMONY Guest Speaker from The SEAQUAL Initiative

: “Dear Earth” - Earth Day Shinto Ceremony in which participants will pray in gratitude for our earth, honor the Kami (spirits and Gods of nature), learn how to adjust their lives to follow an eco-conscious way of life and commit to protecting our precious planet.
For this ceremony, we have a special guest, Francois Devy, Managing Director of SEAQUAL INITIATIVE, who will be presenting "Together for a Clean Ocean", a talk on plastic pollution in our oceans and what we can do as individuals to help improve the only home we have.
WHEN: Monday, April 22nd, 2024 at 7pm PDT

WHERE: The ceremony will be livestreamed on the Shrine YouTube channel

WHO: Shinto Shrine of Shusse Inari in America is the American branch of Shusse Inari Jinja in Matsue, the hometown of Japanese Mythology, which can be traced back to the 12th century feudal lords and samurai.
The head priest Reverend Izumi Hasegawa is one of the only native Japanese Shinto priests outside of Japan. Rev Hasegawa conducts public and private ceremonies in the Los Angeles area. More importantly, she provides Shinto ceremonies and education to a thriving online and worldwide member community. The Shrine is actively raising funds to build a Shrine in California.
François Devy is a Managing Director of SEAQUAL initiative, based in Spain has teamed up with various brands and makers such as sportswear company PUMA, Spanish car manufacturer CUPRA, and Simmons Mattress to turn plastic ocean waste into recycled fabric.
