Hi, My name is Rebecca Haga. I am a Certified & Experienced Teacher of English as a Second Language based in Alameda, CA. I have worked with many students from age 4-75 as a private tutor and a classroom teacher. I am a US citizen and native speaker of English. My husband is issei Japanese and a native speaker of Japanese. I have also worked with Japanese students at an international school in Berkeley for many years. These experiences have allowed me to gain an understanding of the Japanese language, culture, and the challenges that Japanese native speakers face in learning English.

With a background in Montessori Educational Philosophy and a Graduate Teaching Certificate in Montessori Elementary Education, it is important to me to:
- meet students where they are
- create special personalized curriculum for each student
- help students to identify and achieve their personal goals
- guide students towards developing life-long, independent learning skills!

Whether you are a business professional looking to improve your written or conversational skills or a parent looking to help your child advance in their English studies or improve their grades at school, I would like to help you reach your goals!
