From award-winning writer Jane Anderson comes this “magnetic work of theater” (The San Francisco Chronicle) filled with compassion and humor. Dinah and Bill, a devout, church-going couple from the Midwest are struggling to keep their lives intact after the loss of their daughter. Dinah is compelled to reconnect with her left-leaning cousins in Northern California who’re going through their own trials. Jeannette and Neil have lost their home to a wildfire and Neil has cancer. However they seem to have accepted their situation with astounding good humor, living in a yurt on their burn site and celebrating life with hits of pot and glasses of good red wine. The couples clash over their beliefs about life, death, and religion, but do so with a healthy dose of humor and heart leading to some hilarious and poignant moments.

Conductor John Morris Russell and the Pops present Peter Boyer’s poignant Ellis Island: The Dream of America, celebrating the historic American immigrant experience and the American dream. Innovative in its format, bringing elements of theater and multimedia, including historical images from the Ellis Island archives, performers share real stories of those arriving to America and the circumstances surrounding their journey. The program opens by showcasing the vibrancy of Cincinnati’s international communities, with choruses and dancers presenting cultural traditions from around the world.

Cirque du Soleil weaves an aquatic tapestry of artistry, surrealism and theatrical romance in the timeless production, "O." The international cast of world-class acrobats, synchronized swimmers, divers and characters perform in, on, and above water to create a breathtaking experience in a magnificent theatre reminiscent of a European opera house. As you enter the theatre, you will be surrounded by the spectacular works of world renowned artist Richard MacDonald. In a rare U.S. performance, their first ever in Texas, Germany’s famed Ensemble Modern performs the American premiere of a new arrangement of Kurt Weill and Bertolt Brecht’s popular musical theater work, The Seven Deadly Sins, with acclaimed mezzo-soprano Wallis Giunta singing the lead role of Anna. The sound world conjures up Berlin cabaret, but Seven Deadly Sins begins and ends in Louisiana, evoking the exile of its creators. Music from the theater worlds of Berlin and Vienna round out this remarkable program.

Mandy Patinkin has been fortunate to carve out a varied career including theater, the concert stage, film, television, and as a recording artist. In his 1980 Broadway debut, Mandy won a Tony Award for his role as Che in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Evita, directed by Hal Prince, and was nominated in 1984 for his starring role as George in the Pulitzer Prize-winning musical, Sunday in the Park with George. Mandy’s other stage credits include: Compulsion, Paradise Found, The Tempest, Enemy of the People, The Wild Party, Falsettos, The Secret Garden, The Winter’s Tale, The Knife, Leave It to Beaver is Dead, Rebel Women, Hamlet, Trelawney of the ‘Wells,’ The Shadow Box, The Split, Savages, and Henry IV, Part I. In 1989, Mandy began his concert career at Joseph Papp’s Public Theater in New York City. Since then he has toured (and continues to) his various solo concerts (Dress Concert, Mamaloshen, Celebrating Sondheim, Diaries, and Being Alive) across North America, in London’s West End, through Australia and New Zealand, as well as on Broadway and off-Broadway.
