06/27/2024 - Update Splunk Lambda runtimes

*Summary*

In order to keep the Cloud Splunk logging environment up to date, the CMS Cloud Cloud team will perform an update to existing Splunk Lambda runtime versions this evening.

*Actions we are taking*

Update the following Splunk Lambda runtimes to the latest version.


* cms-cloud-logging-autosubscriber
* cms-cloud-logging-customresource-for-eventrule-permissions
* cms-cloud-logging-customresource-hec-token-default
* cms-cloud-logging-kinesis-metrics-to-splunk
* cms-cloud-logging-s3-to-splunk

*When is this happening?*

Start Time: Thursday, 06/27/2024 at 5:00 p.m. ET

End Time:  Thursday, 06/27/2024 at 9:00 p.m. ET

*Who will be impacted?*

Customers who utilize the Cloud Splunk environment.  

*What is the impact? *

There should be no Cloudwatch data loss or downtime experienced during the runtime upgrade.

*Benefits of the change *

The update will ensure that newer log groups continue to provide customer access to search filters.

06/27/2024 - batCAVE Infrastructure Maintenance - PROD

*Summary*

In order to keep up to date with the latest versions and security advisories, the batCAVE PROD Infrastructure will be upgraded to the latest Gold Image and the nodes will be rotated. 

*Actions we are taking*

Update the AWS AMI Gold Image to the May 2024 image release by performing node rotations.

*When is this happening?*

Start Time: Thursday, 06/27/2024 at 9:00 p.m. ET.

End Time: Friday, 06/28/2024 at 2:59 a.m. ET.

*Who will be impacted?*

batCAVE ADO development teams and their users: FFSDCS, QMMS, SDL, DACS, CyberGeek, EPPE, eRPT, SIGNAL.

*What is the impact?* 

Customers should expect a short downtime as instances are restarted within the maintenance window.

06/29/2024 - Enterprise Testing Services Maintenance

*Summary*

In order to keep up to date with the latest versions and security advisories, the CMS Cloud team will be performing maintenance updates on Enterprise Testing tools.

*Actions we are taking*


* Update Selenium Box Hub and Executors with the latest Amazon Linux 2 Gold Image for CMS Cloud.
* Upgrade Selenium Box to the latest version
* Add additional tag to all EC2 instances for Datadog to EMM integration.

*When is this happening?*

Start time: Saturday 06/29/2024 at 9:00 a.m. ET

End time: Saturday 06/29/2024 at 11:59 a.m. ET

*Who will be impacted?*

All AWS Commercial and GovCloud customers of Selenium Box.

*What is the impact? *

Customers should expect downtime for the service as instances are restarted within the maintenance window.

*06/30/2024 - BigFix Infrastructure Patching Q2 2024*

*Summary*


* Patching of the BigFix infrastructure.

*Actions we are taking*

As part of system maintenance, the CMS Cloud team will apply patches to the infrastructure and client endpoints. Endpoint patching will be initiated during the maintenance window and will take time to propagate through the environment.

*When is this happening?*

Start Time: Sunday, 06/30/2024 at 9:00 a.m. ET
End Time: Sunday, 06/30/2024 at 5:00 p.m. ET

*Who will be impacted?*

 The BigFix infrastructure will be updated, as will all AWS Commercial and IaaS Servers with the BigFix agent installed.

*What is the impact?*

BigFix patching will update the version of the infrastructure and endpoints. It will not cause the endpoints to bounce or restart, and customers will experience no impact or outage during patching.

*Benefits of the change*
The environment will have the latest security updates.
