（事例）折込チラシを見て、高齢者の生活支援などをしてくれる事業者と契約をした。サービス内容は身元保証、生活支援、葬送支援で、代金は約１９０万円だった。勧誘時に「１９０万円以外にお金はいらない」と言われていたので、ここからサービス代金が支払われるという認識だった。ところが、サービスを利用するとその都度代金が請求される。解約したいと言うと、半分しか返せないと言われた。(当事者：８０歳代)
〈ひとこと助言〉
・家族や親族に代わって高齢者の身元保証、日常生活の支援、死後事務などを行う「高齢者等終身サポートサービス」は、事業者によって提供されるサービスの内容や料金体系などが様々です。契約をする前に、サービス内容や支払総額、解約条件等をよく確認しましょう。
・契約内容等がよく理解できなければその場で判断せず、周囲の人に相談するなどして、十分に検討しましょう。国の「高齢者等終身サポート事業者ガイドライン」のチェックリストなども参考にするとよいでしょう。
・自治体が高齢者を支援するサービスを実施している場合もあるため、まずはお住まいの地域のサービスについて調べてみましょう。
・困ったときは、お住まいの自治体の消費生活センター等にご相談ください(消費者ホットライン１８８)。
