Vivinavi : World : () World

Kazumi Nakamura （ Kazumi Nakamura ／ (1956- ）) is a colorful painter of abstract paintings, active both in Japan and abroad, including Asia and the United States. Born in Chiba, Japan, Nakamura studied postwar American abstract expressionist painting at Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music from a theoretical perspective, but began painting in earnest in the early 1980s, specializing in oil painting at the graduate school of the same university.

He has participated in numerous exhibitions and had major solo shows at the Sezon Museum of Contemporary Art （ 1999 ）, Iwaki City Museum of Art （ 2002 ）, and the National Art Center, Tokyo （ 2014 ）. In 2015, he was awarded the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology's Art Encouragement Prize. He also teaches younger artists and is currently a professor at Tama Art University.

This exhibition presents recent and new works from his three series of paintings, "Bird of Existence," "Huan" and "Sei". This is an excellent opportunity to see Nakamura's works full of vivid colors and energy, which are at the forefront of contemporary painting, in Kawagoe, where he once lived for more than 20 years.
