Terakoya meets every Saturday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 12:10 p.m. at the temple （ Zenmokuji ） in Little Tokyo. For 26 years since its establishment, the temple has provided a valuable place for parents and children to play in Japanese and learn about Japan while living in the U.S. Throughout the year, we participate in events such as beach parties, fields days, mochi pounding, and Setsubun, and invite instructors to teach tea ceremony, flower arrangement, taiko drumming, calligraphy, karate, and other activities to expose parents and children to a variety of Parents and children will be exposed to various aspects of Japanese culture. As children of different ages participate in activities together, the older children naturally take care of the younger ones, and the younger ones imitate the older ones, thereby deepening the bond between them. Parents deepen their friendships with each other through the activities, providing a valuable opportunity to exchange information on child rearing.
