Tourist from Japan, looking for a place to stay for a short term (2 weeks)

I am an old civil servant living in Tokyo, Japan.
I am looking for a place to stay from Dec 23 noon arrival at LAX to Jan 6 morning departure from LAX.

I am a non-smoker and rarely drink alcohol (it gives me a headache)
I have no particular allergies including animals. I have never had a pet, but I like cats.
I exercise, so an apartment with a gym would be great. Living room is fine.
I plan to play sports, go shopping and visit friends during the day
My budget is 600-800 for a period of time, but I can be flexible with your other conditions.

Payment is due upon arrival for security reasons.
For identification purposes, we can provide you with the name of your employer and his/her telephone number after we have agreed on the details.

I have rented a room in LA several times, and I think I know how to behave, but please point out any imperfections.
